The food processing industry can be confident in the food-grade integrity of Summit’s product because we hold ourselves to the highest possible standards. All of Summit’s food grade products are registered with NSF® for H1 application (lubricants with incidental food contact) and most of our food grade products are also Kosher approved, Halal certified and CFIA accepted. In 2008, Summit was registered by NSF as the first company in North America (and second in the world) to be ISO 21469 certified. This certification emphasizes Summit’s focus on food safety and gives our customers further confidence in the quality of our products.

Many of the negative traits often associated with food grade products — shorter lubricant life, more equipment wear, etc. – do not apply at Summit. By using our extensive experience in the lubrication business and by applying the latest technologies, our research and development team has created a line of food safe, H1 products that meet or exceed the performance of conventional lubricants.

Our products can be used in any application that requires a food grade products (many times it’s required by law), including the production of canned goods, frozen foods, fresh fruits and vegetables, bread, milk, etc. Food grade specifications also apply in health care products such as toothpaste, creams, cough syrup, etc. All these are taken into the body and the production of each should be as safe as possible.

Summit’s full line of gear lubricants have applications built to protect against heavy loading or shock loading, heavy-duty manual transmissions, and other industrial heavy-duty gear drives including hypoid and worm gear operation under high speed/low torque or low speed/high torque and much more.

Summit has developed synthetic gear oils which will not only reduce frictional drag, but will also protect gears against failures associated with heavy loading. Better wear protection, thermal and oxidation stability and reduced sludge and deposit formation insure enhanced performance when compared with petroleum-based lubricants.

Summit hydraulic oils are formulated to meet the requirements of all types of hydraulic systems, including Denison, HF-O, Vickers industrial and mobile applications and Cincinnati Milacron P-68, P-69 and P-70 specifications.

Summit hydraulic oils are rust and oxidation inhibited to protect against rust, corrosion, wear and the formation of sludge. The EnviroTech® line are environmentally responsible lubricants built for farm equipment and hydraulic systems operating under high load and high pressure.  HyPar and HySyn products are compatible with seal materials normally used in hydraulic systems.
